CDP (Committee of Development Policy) of UN has prescribed Nepal to graduate from the least developed country to a developing nation. It has provided five years time period, starting from 2021 AD to 2026 AD for Nepal to step forward to become a developing nation from the least developed country.

The prescription of CDP will be shown by UN’s ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council).
At the end of this year, the General Assembly of UN will note this decision as mentioned by the STHAYI NIYOG of Nepal, situated in New York.
For Nepal to graduate to a developing country it has to meet two of the three criteria the United Nations has set: gross national income per capita and the threshold for human asset index which includes health, and nutrition index and Education index.
However, Nepal still not deserves as a developing country in regards of per capita income.
Nepal was out of economic hazard and was out of risk in human resource since 2015 A.D.
The aids from UN to Nepal will continue until 2026 AD since Nepal is still in the list of the least developed country.
An organ of UN, CDP, provides three years of time frame to a country for the graduation from least developed to developing nation. However, because of the COVID pandemic, the situation of the entire world is under risk. Therefore, CDP added extra two years and extended it to five years for the graduation.
